The Production pane is on the SUTRA Options dialog box. It is used for setting parameters relating to production of energy or solute mass. Examples of production include the dissolution of a chemical into the water or heat produced via radioactive decay.
For for versions of SUTRA prior to version 4.0, the Production pane contains four controls
•PRODFØ is the zero-order rate of production in the fluid. [(E/M)/s] for energy production, [(Ms/M)/s] for solute mass production.
•PRODSØ is the zero-order rate of production in the immobile phase. [(E/MG)/s] for energy production, [(Ms/MG)/s] for adsorbate mass production.
•PRODF1 is the first-order rate of solute mass production in the fluid. [s-1]. It is not used for energy transport.
•PRODS1 is the first-order rate of adsorbate mass production in the immobile phase. [s-1]. It is not used for energy transport.
For SUTRA 4.0, the production variables can be specified for individual nodes rather than as a single value for the entire model. For that reason, the Production pane contains only a single check box to activate or deactivate production.
•The Production simulated checkbox is used to activate production in the model.
