The Lake pane is on the Sutra Features tab of the Object Properties dialog box. It is used to specify Lake boundaries in 3D SUTRA 3.0 models.
The Lake pane is only visible if Use Lakes is selected on the Lakes pane of the SUTRA Options dialog box and Evaluated at is set to Nodes.
Lake nodes must not lie along the horizontal edge of the model.
Lakes can only be used in 3D SUTRA models that are layered. If a model has any layers that pinch out, the mesh will be treated as an irregular mesh.
There are four formulas that can be set on the Lake pane.
Initial stage (STGI) Initial stage in the lake to which the specification applies. If STGI is below the lowest point in the lake bathymetry, the lake is initially dry. [L]
Initial concentration or temperature (UWI) Initial lake-water concentration or temperature in the lake to which the specification applies. [Ms/M or C°]
Fraction of recharge diverted (FRRO) Value of the fraction of groundwater recharge diverted as runoff from generalized-flow nodes within the basin of the lake to which the specification applies.
Fraction of discharge diverted (FDRO) Value of the fraction of groundwater discharge diverted as runoff from generalized-flow nodes within the basin of the lake to which the specification applies.
These formulas set the values of four data sets. The data sets are classified under "Required|SUTRA_Lake." The mesh can be colored with these data sets but because values may not be assigned to all nodes, these data sets can not be used in formulas for other data sets and contouring the mesh with these data sets is not allowed.
