Work Plan Guidance

FY 2001 Work Plan Guidance for NAWQA for 91, 94, 97 and 01 Study-Units (SUs)

FY01 Guidance Memo for All SUs

Cycle I HIP

To provide background information for sites considered for re-sampling and to document what was completed during Cycle I, the 91, 94, and 97 SUs must complete/update the SW and GW Planning database:

Planningdb.SW.GW.definitions (Excel file) contains the definitions for all fields in both the SWPLAN and GWPLAN. The 97 SUs are still in the active HIP cycle and should complete all fields in the planning database. The 91 and 94 SUs should ignore "Planned" fields, but complete all other fields.

Cycle I and II Trends Sampling

The FY 2001 surface-water Trends sampling and frequency requirements are listed in the following Excel spreadsheet, Trends.Sample.Tables (Miller, 2001, Update, FY 2001 Trend sample sites and frequency: U.S. Geological Survey electronic memorandum from the Chief, National Water-Quality Assessment Program, January 22, 2001, 2 p. with attachments).

The NAWQA Cycle II list of Trend SW sites is listed in the following Excel spreadsheet, Trends.Sites (Miller, 2001, Update, FY 2001 Trend sample sites and frequency: U.S. Geological Survey electronic memorandum from the Chief, National Water-Quality Assessment Program, January 22, 2001, 2 p. with attachments). The 1991, 1994, and 1997 SUs should update the Trends spreadsheets showing all work "Done" at all sites/wells in FY00. New Trend sites should be added to the spreadsheet and all work "Planned" should be entered for FY01. Definitions of field names are included as a separate worksheet in each of the Trend spreadsheets:

SU Personnel Staffing

94, 97, 01 SUs should complete the SU.PersonnelStaffing (Excel file) spreadsheet.

SU Collaboration With Others

94, 97, 01 SUs should complete the SU.Collaboration (Excel file) spreadsheet. A worksheet listing instructions is included.

Budget Template

SU.BudgetTemplate (Excel file, rev 8/24/00) spreadsheet includes the worksheets FY00 Expenditures and FY01 Budget. The 91 SUs should complete only the FY00 Expenditure worksheet, and the 94, 97, and 01 SUs should complete both the FY00 Expenditure and FY01 Budget worksheets. LSUS (Trends study) and REDN (VOC data set request) should also complete the FY01 Budget worksheet.

Publications Status

91, 94, 97 and 01 SUs should complete the SU.PUBS.Update (Excel file). Worksheets listing completed and planned publications for each of the 91, 94, and 97 starts are included
