FISP Sampler Catalog

The Federal Interagency Sedimentation Project (FISP) is funded and staffed by the United States government. FISP equipment is calibrated and undergoes QA-QC at the USGS's Hydrologic Instrumentation Facility. This catalog contains listings for the majority of the samplers with prices produced by FISP. The name of each sampler is a hyperlink that connects to a catalog page which provides a general description of the sampler. Some of the catalog pages contain additional links to sampler instruction manuals and reports. There is a full size image on each individual product page.

Sampler Selection

The report, "A Guide to the Proper Selection and Use of Federally Approved Sediment and Water-Quality Samplers", is a valuable resource in sampler selection. Guidance from experienced sedimentologists and FISP personnel also should be obtained in selecting an appropriate sampler. Technical information and operating instructions are provided for each sampler in references found on the sampler pages in this catalog. Where and how the sampler is deployed in the field is as important as the fundamental design of the sampler. Additional information about how to properly use this sampler can be found in:
