Purpose

The Drain Observation input file is used to specify observations of flow through Drain boundaries for use in the Observation process.

The Drain package must be used in models in which the Drain Observation input file is used.

Input Instructions

Input for the Drain Observation input file is read from a file that is specified with "DROB" as the file type listed in the name file.

Item 0 is optional and can include as many lines as desired. Each line needs to begin with the “#” character in the first column.

Read items 3, 4, and 5 for each of NQDR groups of cells for which drain observations are to be specified.

OBSNAM IREFSP TOFFSET FLWOBS (free format)

Read item 4 for each of NQOBDR observation times for this group of cells.

Data Set 5

Layer Row Column Factor (free format)

Read item 5 for each cell in this group; the number of cells equals the absolute value of NQCLDR from item 3.

Items 6 and 7  are only available in MODFLOW-2000.
