SutraSuite Installation File Updates

A listing of updates to the installation files for SUTRA, the SUTRA examples, SutraPrep, and SutraPlot.

This page contains a listing of updates to the installation files for SUTRA, the SUTRA examples, SutraPrep, and SutraPlot. For information on updates to the installation files for SutraGUI, Model Viewer, GW_Chart, and CheckMatchBC, see the respective web pages for these codes, or contact the authors.

A "critical" update is one that is required for the proper functioning of some aspect of a code or example problem. If a critical update to an installation file has been issued since you last downloaded that file, it is highly recommended that you check the list of updates on this page to determine whether the update affects your SutraSuite applications. If so, you should do the following:

1. Back up any files that you do not want to be overwritten by the new installation. For example, if you have modified some of the original example files and are reinstalling the examples, make copies of the modified files you want to keep.
2. Uninstall the corresponding software from your computer. For example, to uninstall SUTRA 2.2, click on the Windows "Start" button and select "Programs | SUTRA 2.2 | Uninstall". To uninstall the SUTRA 2.2 examples, select "Programs | SUTRA 2.2 | Examples | Uninstall".
3. Download and install the latest version of the installation file. Each update is a complete, self-contained installation and includes all the changes that were made in previous updates. Thus, it is necessary to download and install only the latest update, which is the installation file that is currently available on the corresponding code's web page.

It is also recommended that you install and use the latest versions of the SutraSuite codes and examples as they become available. It is not necessary to uninstall an older version of SUTRA, SutraPrep, or SutraPlot before installing a newer version. For example, it would not be necessary to uninstall SUTRA 2.1 before installing SUTRA 2.2. (However, as noted above, it would be necessary to uninstall SUTRA 2.1 before installing an update to the same version.)

Installation file updates

The list of updates below is intended to inform users of changes to the installation files for SUTRA, the SUTRA examples, SutraPrep, and SutraPlot. Please note the following:

• The most recent updates are listed first.
• To see more detailed information regarding a particular update, click on the date.
• Critical updates are marked with the word "CRITICAL" highlighted in red and are required for proper functioning of some aspect of the codes or examples. You should read the detailed descriptions of critical updates to determine whether they affect your SutraSuite applications. Updates that are not marked "CRITICAL" are of lesser importance and may be considered entirely optional.
• To get the latest update of an installation file, click on the "get latest update" link next to the version number.  You are encouraged to install and use the most up-to-date version of each code.

10/16/03  Fixed file extension associations. Prior to this update, the installation did not associate SUTRA file extensions (e.g., ".inp") with the SUTRA icon. This did not affect the functioning of the code in any way.

Version 2.0 (2D3D.1)

10/27/03  CRITICAL -- Fixed paths in "RUNSUTRA.BAT" and ".spl" files. Prior to this update, paths in the "RUNSUTRA.BAT" files and SutraPlot ".spl" files were specified incorrectly, which prevented portions of the example problems that rely on these files from running properly.

10/13/03  Changed format from ".zip" to ".exe". The installation file was changed from a ".zip" file to a self-extracting ".exe" file. The content of the file was not changed.

10/10/03  Version 2.0 (2D3D.1) posted. Original posting of SUTRA Version 2.0 (2D3D.1) Examples installation file.

SutraPrep

Version 1.0 (3D.1)
