The Select Objects for Editing or Deletion dialog box is used to select objects for editing or deletion without necessarily displaying or selecting the objects in the top, front, or side views of the object.
The Select Objects for Editing or Deletion dialog box is displayed by selecting "Object|Edit|Select Objects for Editing or Deletion..."
The user chooses whether to select objects on the top, front, or side view of the model using the radio buttons at the top of the dialog box. A tree control will list all the objects on that view of the model. The user selects objects by checking the checkbox next to the name of the object. The user can select multiple items from the tree control by clicking on one item, holding down the shift key and then clicking another item. All the items in between the two clicked items will be selected. The user can also use ctrl-click to add or remove an item from the selection. Once the desired items are selected, the user can click the Check selected or Uncheck selected buttons or right-click to display a pop-up menu that allows the user to check or uncheck the selected items. If the user clicks the Edit button, the data for all the objects whose names are checked will be displayed in the Object Properties dialog box. If the user clicks the Delete button, the objects whose names are checked will be deleted. If the user clicks the Edit formula feature button, the Edit Feature Formula dialog box will be displayed and can then be used to edit the formulas for existing features in the selected objects.
