Start ModelMuse and select Create new MODFLOW model and click the Next button. Change the MODFLOW version to MODFLOW-2005. Fill in a description of the model and specify "Not Applicable" for the projection. This model uses MODFLOW-style parameters so leave the other choices as they are. Then, click the Next button again.
In the Initial Grid dialog box we will specify a model with 30 columns, 1 row, and 5 layers. The elevations for the layers don't really matter because we will change them all to variable elevations. The column and row widths will be 1000 m. Click the Finish button when you are done.
