Ground Water GIS Ancillary Data Calculated using National GIS Data Layers

Data for Ground Water Buffers

The data are compiled for 500-m circular buffers around the sites listed in the NAWQAPT site coverage, which is created from sites in the NAWQA data warehouse.

For the most part, the data files are tab-delimited text files.

Field mapped land use/land cover data for wells are handled separately and are available as dbf files here.

Data for Ground Water Study Areas (LUS and MAS)

Data are compiled for Land Use Studies and Major Aquifer Studies. The boundaries of LUS and MAS are submitted by the NAWQA Study Units.

Cycle 1 data includes cycle 1 studies. Cycle 2 data includes new studies for cycle 2 and studies resampled in cycle 2.

Note: Resampled studies where boundaries were not revised between cycle 1 and cycle 2 are included with CYC1 data *AND* CYC2 data.

For the most part, the data files are tab-delimited text files.

BND = AREAID represents the entire areal extent of the hydrogeologic unit defined for study (LUS and SUS)
TRG = AREAID delineates the targeted land use within the overall hydrogeologic unit (LUS only)
