Sample Containers For N2 / Ar and 4He
Two types of containers can be used to collect samples for N2 / Ar dissolved gases and dissolved He:
1. Septum bottles (160 mL) are most frequently used. The same bottle type is used for N2, Ar, CH4, O2, CO2, and 4He. The bottles with their stoppers are preweighed and sent to the sample collector by the USGS lab. Pictures below.
2. Copper tubes with pinch off valves similar to the ones used for 3H/3He (Not available from the Reston CFC Laboratory)
