Project Summary: Too much sediment from land runoff can harm streams and coastal waters, including Narragansett Bay in Rhode Island. This project will study where the sediment comes from, such as cities, farms, and past land uses, and how it moves through the watershed. Using computer models, we will map where sediment pollution is highest and identify areas most at risk. To share results in a clear way, we will create interactive maps and dashboards. The findings will help communities and policymakers understand how land use affects water quality and guide actions to reduce pollution, protect ecosystems, and support the long-term health of Narragansett Bay.
