Project Summary: Mountain ponds in Maine provide important recreational and ecological value to the State, such as drinking water for hikers and fishing opportunities for anglers. Not all mountain ponds are protected by conserved land, and land managers do not have access to the long-term datasets for these ponds. This project will create an online platform to host the conversation, water quality, and ice phenology data for mountain ponds. A visual and lay-friendly data format will support efforts to conserve land surrounding ponds and provide an educational opportunity to people in Maine.
