Project Summary: The proposed study looks at how climate change affects when and how much water flows in two rivers. The rivers included in this study form in the Sierra Nevada mountains in California and flow into Nevada, where much of the water is used for irrigation. Historical weather and water data are used to see how temperature impacts surface water flows. This study also helps understand how climate change affects water in mountainous areas where most of the water comes from snow. Results of the research will be shared with farmers and water managers to help them plan for changing water availability.
