Project Summary: Even though Maryland is considered water-rich, parts of the state are faced with the possibility of water shortages, due to population growth, land use change, and more severe droughts. At the same time, agencies and communities are under pressure to improve water quality in the Chesapeake Bay and other water bodies. Treating stormwater can be expensive. Could stormwater be used as a marketable resource to help cover the costs of treatment? This study will investigate the possibilities for such stormwater reuse in Maryland.
