Project Summary: Freshwater salinization due to climate change has been identified as an concern across the United States and is an important issue for Colorado waterbodies. An increase in the salinity of drinking water supplies has widespread implications for corrosion of aging drinking water infrastructure and can result in the formation of toxic disinfection byproducts during water treatment. This project will explore the role of resilience-based intervention on reducing drinking water infrastructure degradation and consumer exposure to harmful contaminants.
