Project Summary: Scientists are worried about chemicals called PFAS, which are found in the drinking water of many Americans. PFAS have never been studied in natural waters in Northwest Arkansas (NWA). This project will collect water samples from different places in an NWA watershed (a region where water drains into a main river), measure the levels of PFAS in the water, and study how PFAS move and change within the region. Scientists and water companies can use this information to make sure our water is safe and work on removing these chemicals.
