Project Summary: Cyanotoxins can kill livestock, animals and could pose health risk to humans. There is a lack of comprehensive data on cyanotoxins in potential hotspots such as agricultural, livestock, stormwater and recreational ponds. The proposed research will conduct statewide sampling for microcystins in these types of ponds - including livestock, agricultural, stormwater, and recreational ponds - across all three distinct regions of South Carolina, covering important watersheds with the assistance of various agencies.
