Details for Project ID MT_2023_Ayotte

Temporal and spatial variation of microbial community dynamics related to nitrogen removal in constructed wetlands.

Institute: Montana
Year Established: 2023 Start Date: 2023-09-01 End Date: 2024-08-31
Total Federal Funds: $2,495 Total Non-Federal Funds: $1,123

Principal Investigators: Stephanie Ayotte

Project Summary: This research will consider established bio-film communities in a pilot-scale, local community treatment wetland and their relation to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Characterizing the relationship between the microbial community and N2O production will help mitigate GHGs and enhance nutrient removal.
