Project Summary: Wetlands are vital ecosystems for sustaining as they are some of the most productive ecosystems in the world, providing critical habitat to both aquatic and terrestrial species, function as an important water quality purifier and protect against flood control. In this study, we investigate wetland conditions using satellite imagery from space along with in-field measurements of wetland conditions for a set of small wetlands across Jefferson County, KY park systems to assess water quality and associated greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
