Project Summary: Concerning water quality problems and importance of water resources in the northern Guam lens aquifer (NGLA), salinity is of concerns in particular. Based on this concern, the project will focus on salinity problems in Mangilao Basin. The foci of the project will aim to evaluate the patterns of salinity levels from individual wells, clustered wells, and all wells in the basin in space and over time, and to analyze the trends of salinity change of individual wells, clustered wells, and overall trends of salinity in the basin in space and over time. The analytical results in this study area will be compared with the results from projects focusing on salinity problems in Finegayan, Yigo-Tumon and Hatgana basins, and therefore patterns and trends in different basins can be compared and evaluated, and therefore overview of salinity problems and patterns and trends of salinity can be concluded.
