Project Summary: This research will develop water management modeling tools to make multiscenario projections (human systems and climate change) of the hydrologic system. The New York Water Resources Institute will establish a technical baseline for a contributor-based system of water management modeling tools developed to support planning and operations to make multiscenario projections (human systems and climate change) for hydrological systems. The work will develop a state-of-the-art bottom-up decision-making frameworks, hydro-climatic science, and management strategies to evaluate a portfolio of specific infrastructure and management options relevant to the Delaware River Basin. In addition the Institute will work to quantify the overall basin’s robustness to growing human pressures and climate extremes as well as provide a more detailed understanding of tensions between stakeholders.
