Institute: Illinois
Year Established: 2018 Start Date: 2018-03-01 End Date: 2019-02-28
Total Federal Funds: $10,000 Total Non-Federal Funds: $20,098

Abstract: This project will conduct a semi-field experiment to better understand how competition between mosquito larvae within common artificial containers found in residential areas, including rain barrels, affects juvenile survival and adult life history traits. The results of this experiment, combined with previous field surveys and experiments, will provide the first complete estimates of mosquito production from rain barrels compared to other artificial containers in residential landscapes.
