Project Summary: This work will assist the U.S. Geological Survey in planning, coordination and execution of activities to provide an opportunity for, and facilitate connectivity among state programs of the Water Resources Research Act Program (WRRA) and National Sea Grant College Program (Sea Grant) and development of a strategic vision for the WRRA Program and associated Water Resources Research Institutes. Project goals include: 1) Review of state WRRI and Sea Grant programs and identification of program clusters that functionally represent parallel geographic regions among WRRI and Sea Grant, e.g. Pacific, northeast, southeast, mid-Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, and Great Lakes regions; 2) Plan and schedule an estimated five (5) joint regional meetings among one or more WRRI and Sea Grant Programs (program clusters) in identified regions and one (1) strategic visioning meeting focused on the WRRA and associated Water Resources Research Institutes; 3) Identify and invite key participants of WRRA and Sea Grant regional programs as well as select USGS and NOAA national, i.e. headquarters, personnel to regional meetings; 4) Conduct administrative actions in support of regional meetings such as securing meeting venue, assisting in identifying appropriate lodging facilities, Audio-Visual support, etc.; 5) Organize, conduct, and facilitate regional meetings.; and 6) As appropriate and in collaboration with USGS, generate regional meeting outcomes such as meeting summaries or white papers.
