Project Summary: This project aims to carry out the background research needed to develop a web and mobile app for watershed education, inspired by the USGS StreamStats “Raindrop” tool. This app will allow a user to trace the flow of stormwater from his/her location (GPS-enabled) or an otherwise specified location. The app will be designed to outline the travel path of the water, similar to driving directions provided by a navigation GPS. Conversations with an app developer have begun; this year’s effort will consist of assembling the necessary background data and arranging non-federal matching for actually launching the app development in the next funding year.
