Abstract: I will be investigating long term trends in both primary productivity and zooplankton levels of Kentucky Lake from the Hancock Biological Station Long term monitoring program. My objective is to determine if invasive carp affect primary productivity and lake processes in Kentucky Lake. The Silver Carp feed selectively on phytoplankton and Bighead feed specifically on zooplankton, but both fish have also shown ability to become opportunistic. I plan to investigate if invasive Asian Carp of Kentucky Lake have the selective diets presented in the literature.
