Abstract: The major objectives of the proposed research are: 1) to assess the Columbia River Treaty Review Process that is being undertaken by the treaty’s implementation/management entities for its ability to provide the opportunity for collaborative outcomes for the stakeholders it seeks to engage, 2) to similarly assess the work of the Universities Consortium for Columbia River Governance to provide for a collaborative forum and contribute to collaborative outcomes, and 3) to present the findings of the research in forums that allow for broad dissemination and consideration (i.e., a white paper, a scholarly journal, the University of Montana’s Undergraduate Research Conference, and at the 2012 Universities Consortium symposium, to be held in Montana on the Flathead Reservation and co-hosted by the Consortium and the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes).
