Abstract: Development has documented impacts on the hydrologic cycle and on local watersheds. Typical stormwater design aims to mitigate large, low-frequency events such as a 100-year storm. Low Impact Development (LID) is an alternative design approach, where the goal is to have post-development hydrologic function mimic that of pre-development. The objective of this project is to utilize monitoring results from an existing LID watershed in Connecticut to calibrate a model using the Stormwater Management Model (SWMM) software. Various design storms will then be applied to the model to assess peak flow rate, volume, and pollutant export from the LID and a traditional subdivision.
