Abstract: Golden algae (Prymnesium parvum) occurs in almost all Texas state waters, some of these populations form toxic blooms resulting in massive fish kills whereas other waters never report blooms. With this study we aim to establish if there are any connections between allelopathic chemicals secreted by submerged macrophytes and golden algae bloom dynamics.
