Project Summary: The Massachusetts Water Center Conference, in partnership with USDA Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service New England Program will organize a one-day conference the conference “Monitoring and Responding to Water Resource Challenges” at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The conference will highlight Climate Change and how it affects precipitation, water resources planning and habitat vulnerability. Other sessions will focus on recreational water quality, sustainable water resources, streamflow issues, stormwater management, coastal issues and the water/energy nexus. The goals of this conference are to provide an interdisciplinary forum for scientists, practitioners, and policy makers to discuss current critical water research; foster greater collaboration among scientists and practitioners; and strengthen the connection between research, education, and policy.
