Project Summary: Countries throughout the Caribbean region share similar concerns for the provision of safe and sufficient water supplies and disposal of used water. There is very high value in communicating experiences with problems throughout the region and collaborating whether by providing advice or more actively in addressing problems. Because of language, historical, cultural, political and other differences as well as physical barriers, routine communication addressing water issues between the islands is limited. The 18th Annual Caribbean Water and Waste Wastewater Conference will be held in St. Thomas, U. S. Virgin Islands in October 2009 to provide a forum for meeting of persons with interest in collaborating in addressing Caribbean water resources issues. Among the objectives of the conference will be the exploration of themes relevant to the water and wastewater sector, exhibition of commercial products and services relevant to water resources professionals and facilitation of exchange of ideas between high-level government officials and water managers.
