Project Summary: One hundred and fifty Massachusetts surface waters will be monitored for pH and alkalinity and a subset of 26 sites will also be monitored for major anions and cations in order to document the effects of acid deposition on streams and lakes. This data, combined with 20+ years of previous data will allow tracking ongoing indicators of trends in the effectiveness of SO2 and NOx regulation.
