Abstract: The overuse of poultry litter as a fertilizer has become a topic of regional concern. Agricultural run-off carrying unknown contaminant mixtures enter lotic and lentic systems that feed into the Chesapeake Bay. The significance of this research proposal is aimed toward elucidating the observed reproductive responses of an aquatic species exposed to endocrine disrupting chemicals. Results will aid in the assessment of sub-lethal response mechanisms to determine impacts on aquatic animal health in the Chesapeake Bay.
