Project Summary: This is an education project that provides graduate students, at master and doctorate level, with the knowledge and skills required for using field equipment, sampling techniques and data analysis for use in hydrologic and hydraulic applications. The project proposes the creation of a field oriented graduate course titled FIELD METHODS IN HYDROLOGY AND HYDRAULICS. The course will use widely accepted and tested measurement techniques. The course objective will be to provide, future researchers and specialist, useful measurement tools, skills for equipment use and data analysis methodologies for their independent research needs. This course will contribute and strengthens the Ph.D. program in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering at the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus. Experts from hydrology, hydraulics and groundwater will share teaching and field experiments in a broad selection of practical data collection techniques and analysis.
