Project Summary: Stormwater pond retrofitting is a candidate watershed restoration technique in the Christina Basin of northern Delaware and Southeastern Pennsylvania. The two states are working together to implement a watershed restoration strategy in accordance with Total Maximum Daily Loads that may be imposed under the Clean Water Act. Little field data exists that documents the pollutant removal efficiency of this best management practice. The research is designed to gather field data on the pollutant removal efficiency of retrofitted stormwater ponds and wetlands that have been installed on-campus in the University of Delaware Experimental Watershed.
