Field Computer Access/Survey |
ITAC,
The attachment, below, is a summary of a questionnaire sent to all WRD Data Chiefs a few months ago. I would like to include it in our discussion of understanding the Field Computer Access issue, making sure BWTST is (will) document solutions to each particular item, and asking the Regions (RSCers) help influence all WSCs to accept the documented solutions.
I propose that we discuss how best to send this single message out to all WRD SAs, and then how to monitor consistent implementation. At this time, I have so lost touch with my own Water Science Centers that I really don't know who's in compliance and who is not. Perhaps the "all WRD IT e-mail" might include a query for which WSCs have not configured their field laptops accordingly. Or, perhaps Jim, Terri, and I might seek out who has not configured all their laptops accordingly, find out why not, and try to influence the desired change.
So, perhaps this matter (an approach to help out our field brothers and sisters) needs consensus from at least some of ITAC, and then needs some Regional enforcement?
