CHASIS -- The CHASIS SQL server has been moved from Pearl, MS to Denver, CO. All sites needing to access this server for retrieving data should review the ODBC documentation at http://nttac.usgs.gov/chasis. The DIS office is currently considering methods for either improving or replacing the CHASIS system due to the loss of both the developers and support personnel for this project. I would like to see the CHASIS database replaced with the built-in inventory information currently provided by LANDesk combined with a customized LANDesk Custom Data Form that the System Administrator would complete for non-Intel based information such as UNIX information, serial numbers, etc. This information can then be exported into a centralized database. It is recommended that until the future of CHASIS is decided you hold of submitting new data and use it for data retrieval only. Your thoughts and comments on this matter are appreciated.
