ITAC action item #18 -- Mike Slifer will follow up on the ITAC membership rotations with the Regional Hydrologists.
January 30 - February 1, 2001 - Columbus, Ohio ITAC Meeting

Subject:  Information Technology and Section 508 -- what you need to know

The following list reflects the current nonpermanent membership and terms. Because of resignations, transfers, etc. the rotation of members has become unbalanced. As discussed at the Jan 02 meeting it would be good if 3 of the terms expiring in 02 were given a 1 year term extension to help balance out the rotation and maintain issue continuity. Sandy Williamson has agreed to an extension if that is acceptable to NAWQA. I am requesting that the terms of 2 of the following; Leo House, Loren Kloft, Nelson Wilson, Pat Valance or Mark Niles be extended 1 year through 12/03. I also suggest that all new terms begin in Jan and run through the end of the calendar year. This would mean that Leo would serve through Dec 02 (unless extended) and Grady through 03 (slightly less than 3 years). This would put 1/3 of the rotations occurring every year. In order to prevent this "term creep" in the future, when a member leaves prior to regular rotation, the replacement would serve the remaining term only, unless reappointed by their "sponsor" to a new term at the end of the original term. Please consider the term extensions and your selections for those whose terms will expire this year. Thank you for your assistance and continued support of ITAC.

Sincerely,

Michael E. Slifer, Chairman

Follow-up emails below:

Since my original Email, Leo House and Mark Nilles have volunteered for term extensions of 1 year in addition to Sandy if that is acceptable to everyone.

Mike

Isabelle,

Thank you for your participation and service to ITAC. Your preparation for meetings and passion for the issues were apparent. You will be missed! ---- Best Wishes

Mike

Mike,

Due to the demised of AIS and my working part time with NWIS (Alan is the NWIS representative), I have discussed with Steve, the need of my participation in ITAC meetings in the future. Steve agrees with me, that my participation is no longer needed, unless there are some specific issues for which ITAC may need my input. In such a case I could either attend the meeting or be contacted via a conference call.

I have enjoyed my tenure with CPAC and ITAC and wish you all the best of luck in the future.

Isabelle
