Description of Action Item:  Scott & Charlie will address the issue of Handar and Sutron 8200A instruments not interfacing to the Windows 2000; and report back to ITAC on these instrument issues.

Status of AI/Comment:   Vaisala (Handar) has a beta version of Windows software that runs on Windows 2000 that eliminates the communication problem. Contact is Larry Weaver.

Description of Action Item:  Sam will clarifiy the Active Directory benefits to Bureau, cost centers, and the site administrators.

Status of AI/Comment:   4/1/02 update -- the Lighthouse Team has proposed a cost/benefit analysis edit/review process to the CR GIO for consideration by the GIO LT. Awaiting GIO LT's approval/support.

4/18/03 update -- Completed. -- This action item is old and should have been done by active directory (AD). ITAC maybe should still keep the pressure on -- but is appropriate to go ahead and drop from the listing due to be an aged action item.

Description of Action Item:   ITAC requests that the Office of Surface Water, in consultation with the Regional Surface Water Specialists and Regional Computer Specialists, provide the Chief, Office of Information, with a list of 10 districts for the interim NatWeb backup capability this spring and summer.

Status of AI/Comment:  Sandy Williamson suggests that the districts be put into 5 groups where within a group, where more than one district will not likely flood at the same time.

Completed, 4/1/02 -- This action item has been completed by the RCS'ers. The list of sites was compiled and approved by OSW. Now it remains to be seen when the NatWeb group will have to time to implement it. They said it will not be ready for Spring run-off. The servers have been ordered.

Description of Action Item:   Scott McEwen, Loren, Jessie, and Brian, will find out status of the technical office's data archival report if not completed, will draft a data archival model, including checklists, of what needs to be archived by the next meeting. Gene Summerhill, Office of Information has on his place the job of developing policy and guidelines for WRD to comply with NARA.

Status of AI/Comment:   4/1/02 update from Scott McEwen -- Jessie and Loren are making progress. Guess McEwen and Brian need to get it in gear. Actually, I'm working with Colleen and Alan Burns (CR GW Specialist) on a survey of district NWIS archival and backup processes. I forgot to include the others in my efforts, but will correct.

4/1/02 email - details from Jessie Alvarez -- I emailed the SAs and have received links or copies of 3 District archival plans so far.

4/18/03 update -- Pending Action. This depends on the action of senior staff on new guidelines (NARA can not do anything on this yet). Hopefully senior staff will commit knowledgeable folks on the project of archiving science records. -- pending the senior staff plans on the Archival Program Committee.

12/10/03 update -- We are working on our science records. Completed
