Using MFI When MODFLOW Includes Packages
that MFI Does Not Include

MFI is not able to prepare data for all packages that have been created for MODFLOW. If one is using such packages, MFI can still be used for those packages that it does include. The data for the other packages will of course have to be prepared by other methods. Also, the Basic Package file must include the unit number for all of the other package files (McDonald and Harbaugh, 1988, p. 4-11). The user can manually make this change to the Basic Package file after MFI is run each time, or MFI can be modified to recognize package names that it does not incorporate and include their units in the Basic Package file. See the Program Documentation Section for a list of packages that are recognized by MFI and for information about modifying MFI to recognize other packages.
