The rules governing incompatibilities are as follows.
C. | The Sensitivity process (not included in MODFLOW-2005, MODFLOW-LGR, and MODFLOW-CFP) can not be used with HK or HANI type parameters of the LPF Package if the transmissivity averaging method for a layer affected by the parameter is other than HARMONIC MEAN. |
D. | The ADV2 Package (not included in MODFLOW-2005, MODFLOW-LGR, and MODFLOW-CFP) is compatible with the Layer-Property Flow (LPF) Package (Harbaugh and others, 2000), but it only calculates sensitivities for interblock transmissivities calculated by using the harmonic mean and does not support the alternative calculation schemes. |
E. | The LMT6 package does not appear to have any code to deal with the IBS, HFB6, RIP, SUB, SWT, SWI, or DAFLOW packages or the FMP or SWR processes. This may or may not mean it is incompatible with them. |
F. | The Model-Layer Variable-Direction Horizontal Anisotropy (LVDA) and Hydraulic-Conductivity Depth-Dependence (KDEP) capabilities are part of the Hydrogeologic Unit Flow Package and so may not be used with other flow packages. |
G. | The "Model-Layer Variable-Direction Horizontal Anisotropy" capability is incompatible with the Horizontal Flow Barrier package. |
H. | The "Model-Layer Variable-Direction Horizontal Anisotropy" capability is incompatible with the Sensitivity process when convertible layers are used. |
I. | The Interbed Storage Package can not be used in the same model with the Subsidence and Aquifer-System Compaction Package. |
J. | The ADV2 Package is compatible with some of the features in the Layer-Property Flow and Hydrogeologic-Unit Flow Packages, but is not compatible with the Block-Centered Flow or Generalized Finite-Difference Packages. (The Generalized Finite-Difference Package is not included in MODFLOW-2000 through version 1.17.02.) |
K. | The Subsidence package cannot be used with the Sensitivity process. |
L. | The parameters in the SFR package can not be used with the Sensitivity or Parameter-Estimation processes. |
M. | The Parameter estimation package cannot be used if DAFLOW is being used. |
N. | The Advective Transport Observation package uses particle tracking to determine advective transport. Mixing in the Multi-Node Well package makes it impossible to track particles through Multi-Node Wells. |
O. | In versions of MODFLOW-2005 prior to version 1.5, The UZF package would read values of hydraulic conductivity and specific yield from the BCF and LPF packages but not the HUF package. As of MODFLOW-2005 version 1.5, the UZF and HUF packages are compatible. |
P. | Because the UZF package calculates recharge and evapotranspiration, the RCH, EVT, ETS, and RIP packages should not normally be used along with the UZF package. However, MODFLOW does not prevent UZF being used in conjunction with the the RCH, EVT, and ETS packages. |
Q. | The UZF package does not take into account changes in the land surface due to subsidence unless the SubLnk option in MODLFOW-OWHM is activated in the SUB package. |
S. | The BFH Package and LGR cannot be used simultaneously. Thus, when using LGR, the Name file specified in the LGR control file cannot use file type BFH. |
U. | The vertical flow from or to a lake is calculated incorrectly when the HUF package is used. This bug is present in MODFLOW-2005 version 1.9.1 and in all earlier versions. It has been fixed in MODFLOW-NWT 1.7 and MODFLOW-2005 version 1.10 and later. |
V. | The HFB6 package layer flow routing capability is only available in MODFLOW-OWHM and is only compatible with the UPW flow package and NWT solver. |
