The Selection Cube (fig. 7) shows the selected column, row, or layer. It can also be used to change the selected column, row, or layer.

•To change the selected column, row, or layer with the Selection Cube, click on the Selection Cube. The selected column, row, or layer will move by one node or element toward the position that was clicked. For SUTRA models, clicking on the Selection Cube for the front view will move the cross section by 1% of the width of the model perpendicular to the cross section.
•If the mouse is over the Selection Cube, scrolling the mouse wheel will change the selected column, row, or layer or for SUTRA models on the front view, the position of the cross section.
•If the Shift key on the keyboard is held down when the mouse button is clicked or the mouse wheel is moved, the selected column, row, or layer will move by 10 nodes or elements toward the position that was clicked, or to the end of the grid, whichever is less. For SUTRA models on the front view, holding the shift key down results in the cross section being moved by 10% of the width of the model perpendicular to the cross section rather than 1%.
•If the Ctrl key on the keyboard is held down when the mouse button is clicked, the selected column, row, or layer will move to the position that was clicked. For SUTRA models on the front view, the cross section will move to the position that was clicked.
•If the left mouse button is held down while the cursor is on the Selection Cube, the selected column row or layer will start to move toward the cursor position after a wait of one second. It will then move rapidly toward the cursor. For SUTRA models on the front view, the cross section position will be changed similarly.
The Selection Cube for the top view of the model draws the grid outline only for simulated layers (Figure 7a).
