So far, the aquifer has been simulated as a confined aquifer. If the model is changed to a convertible aquifer, the results may be different.
Select Model|MODFLOW Layer Groups... and change the aquifer to a convertible aquifer. Next execute the MODFLOW and MT3DMS or MT3D-USGS again and import the results. When importing the results, you will be prompted to either update the existing data sets or create new data sets. Choose to create new data sets. (If simulating this model with MODFLOW 6, change the default formula Cell_Type data set to 1 to set the cells as convertible instead of editing properties of layers in the MODFLOW Layer Groups dialog box.)
The results won't look much different. To see how big a difference there is, create a new data set that will display the difference. Select Data|Edit Data Sets... Click the Add button to add a new data set that you will name "Delta." Set its Orientation to 3-D and set its Default formula to "Head_P1_S1 - Head_P1_S1_1." The two data sets involved in the formula are classified under "Optional|Model Results|3D Data." This formula subtracts the new heads from the old ones. (The name of the original data set indicates that it is the Heads for Stress Period 1, Time Step 1.) Color the grid with the Delta data set to see where the biggest differences are.
