This example is based on Hornberger and Konikow (1998) which, in turn was based on Konikow, 1977. The model has been greatly simplified.
The goals of this example are the following:
1.Illustrate how to start a new MODFLOW model.
2.Illustrate how to import background images and Shapefiles.
3.Learn to use objects to define a grid.
4.Learn how to assign aquifer properties
5.Introduce stress periods
6.Introduce the CHD and WEL packages.
7.Learn how to execute MODFLOW and plot the results from MODFLOW.
8.Learn to use MODPATH
9.Learn to use MT3DMS
10.Learn about model archives.
It will probably take between 2 and 7 hours to complete this exercise.
