When ModelMuse imports a model, it imports the wells for each stress period separately as a separate object with multiple point sections. However, in the Contaminant Treatment system, we need to have each well be a separate object and specify the pumping rates for both stress periods in the same object. To do this, we will split the well object for stress period 1 into 8 separate objects and then for each of them specify the pumping rate for stress period 2. Then we will delete the well object that was imported for stress period 2 so that the wells in stress period 2 are not defined twice.

First lets split the well object for stress period 1 into separate parts. Select Object|Show or Hide Objects or click the Show or Hide Objects Show or Hide Objects button button. In the Show or Hide Objects dialog box, click on the object for the wells in stress period 1 and then right-click and choose Select from the pop up menu.
Select the object for wells in stress period 1.

Then in the main ModelMuse window, select Object|Edit|Split Selected Objects. Now each point in the original object has been made a separate object. Double click on each of the well objects and rename them as illustrated below.

For each well object increase the number of times for the well to 2 and and specify the pumping rate for the second stress period according to the table below. Once you are done, delete the object that was originally imported to define the wells in stress period 2.

Define pumping rate for stress period 2

The wells should also define observation locations in MT3D-USGS. There are two ways of defining observation locations. In this model, we will use the method in the Basic Transport package. For it, each well should set the MT3DMS_Observation_Locations data set to True.
