MODFLOW 6 Transfer of Solutes Between Streams and Lakes

Scroll Prev Top Next More

This exercise reproduces the general features of ex-gwt-prudic2004t2 from the MODFLOW 6 examples. It is described in mf6examples.pdf distributed with MODFLOW6 as "48 SFR1 Manual Problem 2." It is not an exact reproduction of the model. Among other changes, the row and column widths in the original are set to 403.717 and 405.665 respectively instead of to 400.

The model has four stream segments and two lakes. There are specified head boundaries at the North and South ends of the model and flow is downgradient from North to South. Solute is introduced into the model through specified concentration boundaries in the center of the North end of the model. Some solute flows into the lakes and streams and is transported downstream through them.

A completed version of this model is distributed with ModelMuse. It is named LakSftCnc.gpt.
