This dataset is an ARC/INFO polygon coverage of the boundary of the High Plains Aquifer area. It is a single boundary polygon generated from a coverage containing interior polygons. The High Plains Aquifer boundary covers portions of eight states: Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, and South Dakota.
This coverage was created for illustrative purposes and for clipping other thematic layers for spatial analysis.
Procedures_Used:
The coverage was generated by removing interior polygons and leaving the outer polygon boundary intact. A reselect was performed in ARC to select only those arcs that were bounded by the universal polygon.
Reviews_Applied_to_Data: None by the author of this dataset, others may have been performed by the RASA group.
Related_Spatial_and_Tabular_Data_Sets:
This coverage should be used with the full resolution coverage of the other NAWQA study unit boundaries.
A generalized version of this boundary for display is also available.
The coverage was received without documentation from Ginny McGuire (vlmcguir). The original boundary coverage from which this was derived was from the RASA database for the High Plains.

No attributes have been added to those generated by ARC.
