Uvmeas

Name:
uvmeas - A utility to automatically print gage-height and/or discharge unit-value tables for all days with measurements and inspections and/or qw samples

This script was retired from active support in July 2008. This page is available for historical reference and to allow access to the code in case someone wants to try his or her hand in updating it. Use of the script without extensive testing is not recommended and the consequences are your own. If you feel this script was retired prematurely and would like to see it restored send email to GS-W OSW Scripts@usgs.gov.

Information:

Many hydrographers like to print gage-height and/or discharge unit value tables for all days with site visits in order to check recorder information vs. inspection/measurement notes. This script simply automates that process by retrieving a summary of the measurements, inspections, and/or qw samples from NWIS database and prints the UVs for those days.

To install this script, simply download, put the script in any directory on your NWIS host, and make the script file executable (chmod +x uvmeas). Then type the name of the script and answer the prompts as instructed.

Note that the 3-month overlap option of program uv_meas is not used when pulling the measurement/inspection dates. This can be changed by modifying the commands passed to uv_meas in the script.
