Surface Water Information--Data Scripts

Monplot

Name:
Monplot - Using tkg2 to create fancy graphs of QW monitor data outside of ADAPS.

Information:

Users of plotwat know that although it is functional for plotting time-series water quality data, it does not do anywhere near the quick and easy job that the existing scripts for surface-water hydrographs and ratings do. This scripts brings to water-quality hydrographers what surface-water hydrographers have come to rely on - easily generated and pretty plots via tkg2 from outside ADAPS.

Several options are available from within the script:

- from 1-5 parameters can be included in the plot
- the daily values can be plotted as either (1) mean (2) max/min or (3) max/min/mean
- if either pH (0400) or turbidity (61028) data is selected, the user can substitute median for mean
- an optional discharge hydrograph (mean) can be included from any station
- the default size is 11x17, but can be changed by the user

The user is prompted for all information. The script can be run simply by typing "monplot".

Installation:
This script is part of the OSW Scripts Installation package and should be installed as part of that package. Users needing the script outside of the package should send email to GS-W OSW Scripts@usgs.gov.
