National Hydrologic Data and Information Depot
For USGS Internal Access Only

The Regional Water Data Workshop 2014, sponsored by CRACD, will be held in Kansas City, Missouri on September 8-11, 2014. There will be in-depth training opportunities all day Monday. Formal conference presentations will take place all day Tuesday through Thursday. The agenda will be geared toward USGS personnel involved in hydrologic data collection, though invitations are extended nationwide to anyone involved in data. Through numerous presentations, workshops, poster sessions, and vendor exhibits, the conference will provide information on the latest technologies used in the collection and processing of hydrologic data.
The purpose of this conference is to help raise the productive efficiency and quality of the USGS Basic Data Program. Attendees are expected to return to their Water Science Centers and pass along what they learned from the conference to others at their Center.
Any questions can be directed to Bill Damschen (wcdamsch@usgs.gov) or Kate Holt (mkholt@usgs.gov).
The workshop will be held at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown.

https://resweb.passkey.com/Resweb.do?mode=welcome_gi_new&groupID=29253243A block of rooms will be held until August 18, 2014. Please make your reservations early. Please bring your government ID. You will be required to show it at check-in.
- Hotel lodging: $106 (per night)
- Local per diem: $61 (per day)
Please plan accordingly if you are planning to drive field vehicles to the workshop. With the larger attendance over the last few years, larger inner-city hotels are bidding on the contracts. With that, we have to deal with downtown high-rise hotels and parking limitations.
- On-site parking, fee: $16 USD daily, clearance 6 feet
- Off-site parking, fee: $12 USD daily, clearance 8 feet 9 inches
Because pre-registrations in the DOI database exceed our attendance limit by more than 100, we have had to limit the number of slots available to each WSC - the reductions were made as equitably as possible, based on the number pre-registered from each WSC.
IMPORTANT ***************PLEASE NOTE*************** Please do not register, make travel arrangements, or hotel reservations until you have verified with your Supervisor, Data Chief, Studies Chief or AO that you are approved to attend. They have been provided special instructions by email on how many slots are set aside for each WSC and how to pay for the workshop registration fees for their individuals.
If we don't reach the attendance limit of 360 by Friday, August 15th, we will then open registration to anyone who is pre-registered in the DOI database.
Because we limited to 360 attendees a predetermined number of slots have been set aside for each water center. Registration fees are $175 per attendee.
Data chiefs, studies chiefs, directors, and AO's have been given instructions in an email on how to pay for the workshop registration fees for individuals from their centers.
