Information Strategy Team

ITAC members,

For your background, Karen Siderelis set up an Information Strategy Team last December to develop a long-range (10 years) vision for USGS information. This is meant to be inclusive of all aspects of "information" (i.e., technology, services, management; workforce, funding, research, partnerships, etc. etc.). The completed product will be somewhat analogous to the long-term science strategies that the USGS science disciplines develop.

Our tiger team (which includes members from all around USGS) is currently working to gather ideas and feedback from key stakeholders ---both those within USGS and key partners and customers. We will use this input to help us begin to frame out the information strategy.

We've developed the attached questionnaire to help us gather this input from people.

We would appreciate it if you could take a few minutes (in your spare time!) to provide us your thoughts. If you have additional ideas or issues you'd like to raise, please don't be constrained by the questions.

I'll be on conference call with the ITAC to discuss the team and what we are learning so far. If you would like to provide written comments based on the questionnaire please do so.

Thanks in advance for your time and your ideas.

Katherine
